Accomplishing the Field Research tasks earns the trainers rewards such as Stardust, rare Pokémon encounters and more. 'Tales of Transformation' season in Pokémon GO has also brought in new Pokémon that trainers can encounter if they manage to complete a research breakthrough.

You can encounter one of the Pokémon from a list that includes Alakazam, Aggron, Sinistea, Morpeko, Dreepy and Frigibax in this season. Field research tasks are like side mini-quests in the game.
