Pokemon Unite to Bring 3 Kanto Legendary Birds in its Upcoming Update

Pokemon Unite is going to surprise players with some new legendary Pokemon. Just a week after the release of patch 1.21.1.7, which introduced part two of the ‘Roar of Sea and Sky’ update, Pokemon Unite is planning to drop a banger in the first update of 2026. If the reports of some of the trusted data miners turn true, then you may soon receive the three Kanto legendary birds. You can find all the known details about them down below.

Pokémon Unite received its last patch update on December 25, 2025. The update also introduced numerous meta changes. While some Pokemon were buffed, some faced heavy nerfs. The next patch appears to be even crazier, and the dataminers have leaked the Pokemon that may potentially form the new meta in the game. These are none other than the Kanto legendary trio: Moltress, Articuno and Zapdos.

One of the trusted data miners in the Pokémon Unite community, @ElChicoEevee, took to their X (formerly Twitter) to reveal that the three Kanto Legendary birds may arrive as the next new releases in the game. The information was shared on January 3, 2025, at 1:52 AM IST.

The tweet, however, didn't disclose any information regarding the release date of the legendary trio. You need to wait for an official announcement to know more about the details of each Pokémon and their roles.

Pokémon Unite Kanto Legendary Birds Predicted Roles

According to some sources, the three Legendary Kanto Birds will arrive with distinct roles. While Zapdos is predicted to be an attacker, Moltress is expected to be an all-rounder. The attackers in Pokémon Unite deal more damage but are generally very squishy unless built in a 'tanky' way. If Moltress arrives as an all-rounder, it will be good at both tanking and dealing damage.

Pokémon Unite Articuno is almost certain to arrive as a defender, since most of the ice-types have a similar role. Being a defender, Articuno is most likely to be bulky.
