Red Dead Redemption Mobile Announced: Launching December 4 via Netflix Games

In a surprising announcement that fans did not see coming, Red Dead Redemption is going to Netflix Games for iOS and Android on December 4, 2025. This is another major step for Netflix’s mobile gaming platform, already bringing hit games like GTA: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition.

The news came not long after Red Dead Redemption was spotted on the ESRB database for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Not long after that, YouTube flagged the Take-Two Interactive trailer, indicating that across-all-platform releases will be coming soon. Red Dead Redemption Mobile Version Announced for iOS and Android: What to Expect?

To add information, the latest title will not be a remake or remaster. It's a straight port of the original 2010 title, released in 2023 on Nintendo Switch and PS4 for the first time, with a PC release scheduled in 2024.

Players can once again step into the shoes of John Marston, a former outlaw who federal agents are forcing to track down the members of his gang while the Wild West fades away behind them.

Also included in this mobile version is the hugely popular Undead Nightmare expansion, which adds a supernatural twist with zombies to the missions and lets players survive in a different style of gameplay.

However, the Netflix version will not include multiplayer, unlike previous console versions. The focus will be on a single-player experience, to allow for the best performance and optimised touchscreen controls.

With a Netflix subscription, subscribers can access the entire game at no additional charge through the Netflix app, which can be downloaded directly from the iOS App Store and Google Play from December 4, 2025, onwards.

You need to have an active Netflix account. But don't fret; a paid version will likely become available to purchase separately at some point, as with GTA: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition, which was purchasable months after the Netflix release. The game is anticipated to be 3.1GB at launch.
