After almost a 5-year-long hiatus, Capcom is finally releasing Resident Evil Requiem on 27 February 2026. While the whole action-horror fanbase has just gotten over the wraith of Lady Dimitrescu, they're ready to delve into another biohazard world. A recent Resident Evil Requiem Showcase on January 15, 2026, with timings around 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET / 10 PM GMT, has revealed some interesting facts about the title.

Capcom will focus more on balancing action and horror elements in their ninth iteration. Based on Masato Kumazawa's interview, while players already have an idea of Leon's side of the story, the developers will remain silent with Grace Ashcroft's side. Resident Evil Requiem Showcase: Capcom's mega reveal

There's no doubt that the RE Showcase was a resounding success, unveiling key gameplay details, especially the Resident Evil Requiem release date. The upcoming title takes players back to the storyline set 30 years after the events of the 2012 gaming sensation, Resident Evil 6. For those who are already familiar with Leon S. Kennedy. To everyone's surprise, the developers are introducing another playable protagonist, Grace Ashcroft.

Resident Evil Requiem Gameplay: What we know so far

Based on the title's producer, Masato Kumazawa, players will experience playing as both protagonists. Leon's version of action-horror will give you the feels of Resident Evil 4. With his hatchet, Leon kills zombies with a chainsaw and crushes their heads with his boots. In contrast, you will have to take a strategic approach with the FBI Agent Grace Ashcroft. While her story is yet to be told, players will be working with an assault revolver, Requiem, featuring limited ammo, while collecting blood from zombies to craft weapons, which definitely reminds us of Resident Evil 2 mechanics.

Coming to the modes, following the Resident Evil standards, the title will include Story, Modern, and Standard difficulty settings. While the Story mode revolves around the puzzle-solving aspect, the Standard or Classic mode will give you a hard time, especially when you are playing as Grace. The game will be available in both Standard and Deluxe editions, with the Standard edition being available for $69.99 and the Deluxe edition available to be purchased for $79.99.

The core gameplay was surely a major surprise for fans. Additionally, Capcom also highlighted the Porsche collab, which will be driven by Leon. As both the game's protagonists wear their respective in-game watches, Capcom has announced a special Resident Evil Requiem Hamilton collab, with 2000 limited edition watches in real life.

Resident Evil Requiem will launch directly on Epic Games and Steam for PC, and there's a special freebie available for users accessing the store. Players buying the game from the Epic Games Store will receive exclusive in-game items in Fortnite, such as Grace's Outfit. However, do note there won't be a Resident Evil Requiem demo version available for you to try out before buying the original game.
