Chennai Super Kings have suffered a major blow in IPL 2026, as the latest update on Khaleel Ahmed injury has ruled him out for the remainder of the season. The left-arm pacer picked up the problem during CSK’s match against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 14 at MA Chidambaram.

Khaleel has been an important part of the bowling attack this season, especially in the power play, where he has provided early breakthroughs. According to a report from India Today, the injury has been diagnosed as a serious quadriceps issue, which will require a long recovery period and proper rehabilitation.

His absence could weaken CSK’s pace department, forcing the team management to rethink their bowling combinations for the upcoming matches, and Mukesh Chaudhary might get the chance to feature in the playing 11 as Khaleel Ahmed replacement.

Khaleel Ahmed picked up the injury while bowling the 17th over for Chennai Super Kings in their recent match against Kolkata Knight Riders. It looked like minor hip discomfort had now turned into a serious problem for both the player and the team.

As per the latest Khaleel Ahmed injury update, the fast bowler has suffered a grade 2 muscle tear, along with a severe strain in his right thigh area. One section of the muscle is believed to be fully torn, which makes the recovery more complicated and time-consuming.

He will now need proper treatment, expected to last around 10 to 12 weeks, meaning he will be out for nearly three months. As a result, Khaleel Ahmed is unlikely to play any further role in the ongoing IPL season.
