Along with this, the Tamil-based cricket franchise in the IPL, Chennai Super Kings, is making its comeback in the league and is facing the Lucknow Super Giants in Chennai, on the very same day when the Tamil Nadu CM oath ceremony took place.

The interesting thing came out when a picture surfaced online of Vijay oath ceremony, where a security officer was standing beside him who was a look-alike of a CSK cricketer who was about to play in the afternoon game in Chennai.

The young Indian Pacer from Haryana, Anshul Kamboj, is representing the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2026 and is part of all the games. However, a picture surfaced online about the Tamil Nadu CM oath ceremony where one security officer looked quite similar to a cricketer, standing alongside the newly elected CM of Tamil Nadu.

All this created a lot of misunderstanding that Anshul Kamboj was attending the CM Oath Ceremony before the LSG game at 3:30 PM. The former CSK cricketer, Ravichandran Ashwin, posted a tweet that “ Duty always comes first, but on a must win match day #CSKVLSG, it’s a bit too much. It’s a day game, get a cab & get to Chepauk ASAP Anshul Kamboj. Big Game”, along with that particular picture.

To clear all the doubts, Chennai Super Kings also took to X that “Don't worry, Anshul Kamboj is here”, which cleared all misinterpretations that the guy present at the Tamil Nadu CM Oath Ceremony was not Anshul Kamboj.
