Gujarat Titans, under the leadership of Shubman Gill, have been one of the top teams of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. With the kind of cricket that they have played, they look like one of the hot favourites to win the title.

How Gujarat Titans Can Finish In Top 2?

Gujarat Titans playoff scenario seems quite simple for them to finish amongst the top two teams. The Titans are placed at the second spot on the IPL points table with 16 points and an NRR of +0.400. They will be playing their last game against the Chennai Super Kings on May 21, which will be their last league game in IPL 2026.

The match will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, the biggest cricket stadium in the world, and a win here will take the Titans to 18 points, which will solidify their position in the points table.

GT Qualifier 1 Scenario

To finish in the top two and stand a chance to qualify, the Titans will need to win against CSK. This will also boost their NRR, however, it won’t be enough for them to finish in the top two spots in IPL 2026.

GT would then need RCB to beat Sunrisers Hyderabad. This will leave RCB with 20 points, GT with 18, and SRH with 16 points. This would mean that the defending champions will take on the 2022 winners in Qualifier 1.

However, if Gujarat Titans lose their game, they would need RCB to beat SRH by a big margin, which would keep them ahead of SRH in NRR. If both GT and SRH win their games, GT have a higher chance to finish in the top two. In this case, they will have a higher NRR than SRH and will increase GT top 2 chances IPL 2026.

But considering the form and the players that GT have, the Shubman Gill-led side is the hot favourite to win the title this year. They have also been sensational at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where they are yet to lose a single game in the tournament.
