IPL 2027 Schedule Revealed: Here's Why the Tournament Will Start Early

The IPL 2026 season ended at the end of May as Royal Challengers Bengaluru clinched their second successive title. Now, the talks for the next season of the Indian Premier League have also begun.

According to the reports in PTI, the IPL 2027 will start early. The dates have also been revealed and the season will be played between March 10 and May 15. These are just the probable dates and ther emight be some changes later.

Why IPL 2027 Will Start Early?

The IPL 2027 will start early to prevent the teams and the players from adverse weather conditions. The month of April and May brings the peak of Indian summers with temperatures touching 40 degrees quite consistently.

This was the same case in IPL 2026 as well, when teams, including the broadcasters and organizers, struggled with the extreme heat. It resulted in the players getting cramps and more injury concerns.

The month of April and May do not provide the perfect weather for cricket. However, the league is usually played in this window right from the beginning. Given the adverse weather conditions, the BCCI has decided to start the league early next year.

When will the Full IPL 2027 Schedule Be Announced?

The complete IPL 2027 schedule is yet to be announced and is likely to be released next year. Currently, BCCI seceretary Devajit Saikia has just spoken about the dates. The weather conditions in IPL, the biggest cricket league in the world, have been getting worse every year with the summers getting warmer. It prompted the BCCI to take a call on this matter.

IPL 2027 early start means that the Indian team will play the league just a week after the completion of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which is played between two of the best cricket teams in the world. India will host this Test series against Australia which will be crucial for the upcoming World Test Championship final.
