As per the tweets, a new era of Mumbai Indians begins with Tilak Varma MI captain. The tweets also claim that Rohit was trying to ensure since 2024 that one of his two close allies, SKY or Tilak, gets the captaincy that’s why all this politics happened and Rohit Sharma’s plan has succeeded, and he has internally broken the team apart & innocent Hardik is the victim of such brutal politics.

Mumbai Indians Poor Run in IPL 2026

The Mumbai Indians won the first match of the season after a long wait of 14 years but didn't continue that winning form after that where they lost 4 consecutive matches after that. The another win for the Mumbai based franchise came against the Gujarat Titans (GT), where it looked like MI's comeback in this edition of the IPL after a 99 runs win.
