Is Rishabh Pant Ruled Out of RCB vs LSG Match?

The Defending Champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) is locking horns with the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. LSG has a mixed season of IPL this time, where team is struggling in phases across matches and are coming into this match after facing a disappointing loss against Gujarat Titans (GT).

The visiting team was put into batting first in the match and didn't have a decent start to the game. But, keeping this aside, a shocking incident happened in the powerplay when skipper Rishabh Pant was struck with a ball on his elbow and resulting him to retire hurt from batting, which made fans think that is Rishabh Pant injury resulting him to be ruled out of RCB vs LSG.

Is Rishabh Pant Ruled Out of Match Against RCB?

There might be speculations about Rishabh Pant ruled out of the match against RCB. But as of now, there is no confirmation about Rishabh Pant being ruled out of this match and will not be part of remaining match, whereas he could come to bat if needed or can even avoid that along with keeping in this match. There will be a major effect on LSG camp if one of the best wicket keeper in IPL misses out.

Pant got hit by ball while facing Josh Hazlewood in the fifth over of the match. It was the 4th delivery of the over when Hazlewood bowled a short and outside off delivery which struck hard to skipper on his elbow. The physio of LSG came out to check on him, while Pant was looking in a serious pain and was almost in tears while walking out. An update on his participation in remaining of the match is yet to come.

Rishabh Pant in IPL 2026

The performance of Rishabh Pant has not been up to the mark in IPL 2026 just like the last season. He has not been able to play as per his natural game, where he has only managed to score 103 runs in 5 matches being played so far. On the other hand, he is decent with captaincy and on the field with gloves which helped his team won 2 out of 4 matches. Rishabh Pant is yet to play an impactful innings in this season except one innings of 68 runs in the second match of LSG.
