The 35th match between the Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium took a worrying turn after DC's star pacer Lungi Ngidi suffered a brutal fall while attempting a catch.

What looked like a normal fielding routine quickly turned into a scary on-field moment that silenced the entire stadium. Both teams' camps stood frozen as medical staff rushed into the field, with concern written all over the DC camp.

What Happened to Lungi Ngidi?

Lungi Ngidi injury happened during the third over when Axar Patel induced a mistimed shot from Priyansh Arya, the batter who is an IPL orange cap contender this season. Trying a lofted drive, Arya got a thick toe-end that went high towards mid-off. Ngidi immediately tracked back, eyes on the ball, but he never quite settled under it.
