IPL 2025 Fixed

While the tournament is going on in full flow, there have been some controversial moments that have made the fans wonder if IPL 2025 is fixed.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 has completed one month. Fans have witnessed exciting matches and some historic moments. There has been no shortage of drama, from Vaibhav Suryavanshi becoming the youngest IPL debutant to MS Dhoni returning as CSK captain. However, along with entertainment, some incidents of IPL 2025 have raised questions about the league's fairness.

Over the years, IPL has grown into the best franchise league in the sport. Its stature has grown over the years, and the performances of players have crossed several levels. But, there have been allegations of match-fixing in the league, which makes it highly disappointing for the fans who follow it with extreme passion.

In the past, teams like Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings have already faced the wrath of match-fixing as both the franchises got banned for a couple of years in 2016 and 2017 respectively. It was a tough time for the league as the organisers struggled to keep up with the reputation of the league. There have been a few such instances in the ongoing IPL season that make the fans wonder whether it is fixed or not. Let’s take a look at five controversial moments that made fans wonder about IPL 2025 fixing allegations.

IPL 2025 Scandals

1. Khaleel Ahmed’s Suspected Ball-tampering

In the match between CSK and MI, fast bowler Khaleel Ahmed was seen doing something strange. As per the sources, he appeared to put something in his pocket just before bowling. CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad was also nearby him. This moment was caught on camera and became one of the IPL 2025 scandals to follow. Fans on social media labelled it as ball-tampering and wondered about IPL 2025 fixing. Surprisingly, all the videos from this incident were removed from social media.

2. Match-fixing Allegations against Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals were accused of match-fixing, yet again! After their close two-run loss to Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2025, Jaydeep Bihani from the Rajasthan Cricket Association raised concerns and accused the franchise of tampering with the game. Rajasthan Royals team management strongly denied all claims by calling the allegations false and baseless.

It is not the first time that the franchise has been surrounded by match-fixing claims. Rajasthan Royals have already faced a ban earlier in 2016 and 2017 due to their involvement in match-fixing alongside Chennai Super Kings. Hence, they were reminded of their poor record in terms of the fairness of the game on social media.

3. Ryan Rickelton’s Controversial No-ball Decision

Mumbai Indians wicketkeeper-batter Ryan Rickelton was given out after he holed out to Pat Cummins during an IPL 2025 game between MI and SRH. But the third umpire later called it a no-ball. This happened because wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen’s gloves were slightly ahead of the stumps. According to the MCC rules, the decision was correct. But fans were unhappy and targeted the SRH wicketkeeper. Many believed it was unfair and voiced their anger on social media platforms.

4. Ishan Kishan Walks Off Without Appeal

During the 41st match of IPL 2025 between SRH and MI in Hyderabad, Ishan Kishan walked back to the dugout after missing a shot down the leg side. No one from Mumbai Indians had even appealed, and the umpire was about to call it a wide. However, he raised his finger after seeing Kishan going off the field. The batter was patted on his helmet by MI's skipper Hardik Pandya as he walked back to the pavilion.

However, to everyone's surprise, replays showed that there was no edge. Fans and experts were absolutely shocked at Kishan’s decision to leave without being given out and not even being appealed by the opposition. It triggered a debate on social media with many users questioning even Kishan's loyalty towards his new IPL franchise.

5. DC’s Chaotic Run-outs in Final Over vs MI

Delhi Capitals needed 23 runs from 12 balls against MI at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi during an IPL 2025 game. Ashutosh Sharma hit two boundaries and gave fans some hope. It seemed like the home team would get across the line, but disaster followed. Ashutosh, Kuldeep Yadav, and Mohit Sharma were all run-out in quick succession, and Delhi lost their first match of the season, handing MI their second win of the season. Fans felt something wasn’t right with the hat-tricks of run-outs in the final over and spoke their hearts out on social media platforms.
