Punjab Kings (PBKS) are having a great time in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. They have won two games with one ending in a washout. The Shreyas Iyer-led side sits second on the points table and looks like the favourite to win the title. One of the major reasons behind Punjab Kings’ success this season has been Prabhsimran Singh, one of the best wicket keeper in IPL.

The keeper-batter has played two match-winning hands and would be keen to carry on his form and help his team win the tournament, where they ended up as runners-up last season. Prabhsimran Singh played a fine hand of 37 runs against the Gujarat Titans and then followed it up with a 43-run knock against the Chennai Super Kings. He has looked in solid touch and would hold the key for PBKS going ahead.

PBKS are next slated to lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 11 at New Chandigarh. However, before the game, the players of Punjab had the experience of home, thanks to Prabhsimran’s family. In a kind gesture, Prabhsimran Singh’s mother brought home-cooked food for every member of the team. Singh’s mother along with her sister and uncle came with food and served them in the team hotel.

All the members of the team seemed to have enjoyed the food and thanked Prabhsimran’s mother for her kind gesture. Notably, Singh’s mother also did the same gesture for team last year and everyone enjoyed it, calling it the best home-cooked food.

Ricky Ponting Praise for Prabhsimran Singh Mother

One of the best praises for Prabhsimran’s mother came from head coach Ricky Ponting. He loved the food and pointed out how the PBKS opener went on to hit five fifties last year when her mother brought the food last year.

Prabhsimran Singh was one of the major reasons behind PBKS playing the final of IPL last year. The opening batter was amongst the top leading run-getters for his side as he scored 549 runs in 17 matches. His best came against Lucknow Super Giants, where he slammed 91 runs.

In 2026, he started well and now would be keen to pile on that. The spotlight will be on him as PBKS take on SRH in their next game of IPL 2026.
