Chennai Super Kings’ Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 campaign continues to be affected by injuries, just when the team seemed to be finding some rhythm. The five-time champions have already dealt with multiple setbacks this season, including concerns around former skipper MS Dhoni’s fitness and the absence of key players like Ayush Mhatre and Khaleel Ahmed.

As Chennai Super Kings looked to push for consistency, another blow has now disrupted their plans yet again. It is a massive dent to their bowling attack, which was starting to take shape recently.

Ramakrishna Ghosh Ruled Out of IPL 2026

CSK have now been dealt a fresh setback with the bowling all-rounder Ramakrishna Ghosh ruled out of IPL 2026 after suffering a fracture to his right foot during a recent match. The injury comes at a crucial stage of the season, especially considering Ghosh had just begun to make an impact after earning his opportunity in the playing XI in CSK's previous clash against Mumbai Indians.

“OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Ramakrishna Ghosh sustained a fracture to his right foot during the CSK v MI match at Chepauk. He will take no further part in IPL 2026. Get well soon, Rambo,” CSK posted on Instagram.

The Maharashtra all-rounder, who was picked for his base price and made his debut this season, impressed in his first outing, dismissing MI's Suryakumar Yadav, one of the best batsmen in IPL. Ramakrishna Ghosh injury further weakens CSK’s depth, particularly in the lower order and seam-bowling options. With multiple injuries already affecting the bench strength, CSK now face an uphill task to climb up in the IPL points table.

CSK's Injuries 2026 List

As mentioned above, this isn’t the first injury setback for one of the best teams in IPL, CSK, this season, and the list of injured players has continued to grow at a crucial stage. Earlier, MS Dhoni struggled with a calf injury and is yet to play his first match of the season. Meanwhile, Khaleel Ahmed was ruled out of the tournament with a quadriceps injury, dealing a major blow to their pace attack.

The problems didn’t stop there, as young middle-order batter Ayush Mhatre was also ruled out for the remainder of IPL 2026 due to a hamstring injury, removing a key top-order option. Additionally, overseas pacer Nathan Ellis missed the season after sustaining a hamstring injury, further weakening their bowling depth of the five-time champions.
