Rohit Sharma's Abusive Words Caught on Live TV After Tilak Varma's Wicket

Mumbai Indians batter Tilak Varma played a fine knock against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the 54th match of IPL 2026 at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium, Raipur. Tilak resurrected MI's innings from a precarious situation to help his team put a fighting total on the board.

However, it wasn't Tilak, but Rohit Sharma, who caught the attention with his antics during the match. After Tilak was dismissed, the camera panned to Rohit, who was seen using abusive words to let out his frustration.

Rohit Sharma Reaction On Tilak Varma Wicket

Rohit Sharma, who was seen in the MI dugout alongside Deepak Chahar, is believed to be saying, “Bhen****”, after the fall of Tilak Varma's wicket, as per his lip-reading. The sight of Rohit Sharma abusive words were caught on live television and soon spread on social media as well.

Not just Rohit, the other Mumbai Indians players also looked visibly disappointed at the dismissal of a set batter. The wicket came at a time when Mumbai were looking to increase the tempo and finish on a high. However, it allowed RCB to come back into the match. It can go on to become a crucial moment in the RCB vs MI IPL 2026 match.

Meanwhile, Tilak showed why he is amongst the best batsmen in IPL. The left-handed batter had come to bat at a time when Mumbai Indians were struggling at 28-3 with the stand-in skipper Suryakumar Yadav just dismissed. He took his time and allowed himself to get used to the pitch.

Soon, he started attacking the spinners Krunal Pandya and Suyash Sharma. He looked good to score some quick runs in the end but was undone by Bhuveshwar Kumar, the IPL Purple Cap holder of this season.

Rohit Sharma Starts Well But Misses Out

Mumbai Indians opener Rohit Sharma, who is second on the list of most runs in IPL, returned to the side after an injury had sidelined him for a few games. He started aggressively and struck a few boundaries initially. However, Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a perfect delivery to send him packing for 22 off 10 balls. His knock included 2 fours and 2 sixes.

MI scored 166-7 while batting first on a surface that had something for the bowlers. They are currently struggling at the IPL points table and are in a do-or-die situation. Meanwhile, RCB are in a good position and look set for another playoffs qualification.
