Will Ravindra Jadeja Go Back to RR? Massive Reports Coming Out of Sanju Samson Trade Deal

Ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 auction, wicket-keeper batter Sanju Samson has become the trending topic. This is because the right-hander is all set to end his long-term association with the Rajasthan Royals (RR), as reported by several reliable sources.

Sanju Samson trade deal has been one of the things that has kept many of the IPL fans excited. A few months back, there were reports that Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had shown their interest in him but the talks got derailed. Further, his swap with Tristan Stubbs to the Delhi Capitals (DC) became the hot topic.

However, as per the various reports, the the CSK have opened the channel of communication with RR over Sanju Samson’s trade yet again. Things look serious this time and it has been reported by Cricbuzz that RR wants a top player in return.

Now, a few days later, Cricbuzz has reported that the top player is none other than the veteran all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja. Since both are INR 18 Crores players, CSK seems be to be okay with the trade and the deal could well have been sealed by now but RR are acting as a hurdle.

As per the reports, Rajasthan Royals also wants the inclusion of Dewald Brevis in this trade along with Ravindra Jadeja. CSK believe that Jadeja is already a big player and they have no intention of including another player in the trade with RR. The reports claimed that CSK had discussions with Ravindra Jadeja before starting the trade talk. Only after consulting him, they opened the channel of communication with RR. Now, the ball stays in RR’s court and the final decision related to the same will be taken soon.

Brevis, whom RR wants, has been one of the best T20 batsmen in the last few months. He set the stage on fire for CSK last year with the bat and also became the most expensive player in the SA20 history.

If RR agrees to the Sanju-Jadeja swap, then it will be a homecoming for the veteran all-rounder. He started his career with RR under the leadership of the late Shane Warne. On the other hand, Sanju will act as a great replacement for MS Dhoni at CSK as the latter might retire after the next edition.

Will RR Trade with Sunrisers Hyderabad?

The reports also added that RR also sent trade feelers to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). However, it is learned that the 2024 IPL runners-up aren’t interested as they already have one of the most dangerous batsmen in the world at their top order. Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, and Ishan Kishan form a high-class batting order for any side in the world.

A source close to the developments claimed that SRH have no intention of parting ways with Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen. The former South Africa wicketkeeper-batter has been one of the best IPL batsmen over the last few years and has played some exceptional knocks.
