SRH Bowled Out in IPL 2026: Muttiah Muralitharan Statement on Batting Pitches Contradicts

The Sunrisers Hyderabad, who is considered to be the most dangerous team in IPL, has won the five consecutive matches in IPL 2026 and has been scoring plenty of runs in the middle. The spinner in a press conference pointed out that the league has become more about business than balanced cricket.

According to him, the flat pitches are being prepared for entertainment and sponsor value as the low-scoring games are seen as boring which is resulted in bowlers being increasingly sidelined in modern T20 cricket. He told, “Even I would struggle against aggressive young batters today. Bowlers are treated like slaves. Even legends like Shane Warne and him would've struggled in conditions that are very favourable for the batters."

However, the match played by the SRH post this statement led to Sunrisers Hyderabad collapse against the Kolkata Knight Riders, where it was expected that SRH will post a good total and win the match comfortably but the statement contradicted the batting performance.

SRH's IPL 2026 Campaign

The Sunrisers Hyderabad had a very mix of IPL campaign, where they started with a loss against the RCB then went to win only 1 out 4 matches. This showed that the team will struggle in the rest of the tournament but opposite happened, as SRH went on to win the next 5 consecutive matches and performance was exceptional well in all the departments of the game. SRH is currently at the third position on the IPL points table with 12 points and it is likely that SRH will be making it's way to the IPL Playoffs.
