The vaping controversy does not seem to stop in the ongoing season of Indian Premier League. In a recent controversy, Punjab Kings leg-spinner has been caught vaping while he was inside a team flight with some other players.

The incident was caught on the video posted by the team's pacer Arshdeep Singh in his YouTube channel. It is to be noted that Arshdeep is one quite famous on social media and constantly makes vlogs, showing his fans about the team culture.

In one of his videos, Arshdeep was speaking to the all-rounder Suryansh Shedge while Chahal, who was sitting just besides them, was seen using a vape. PBKS batter Shashank Singh was sitting just besides Chahal. This clip has triggered an online debate about the players' misconduct during such a grand event like the IPL.

Did Yuzvendra Chahal Break Rules By Vaping Inside a Flight?

It seems like Chahal, one of the best bowlers in IPL, has broken rules by vaping inside a flight as it is strictly prohibited there, just like smoking. It is allowed to carry vaping devices inside the luggage but it cannot be used while the passengers are onboard.

According to the flight rules, vapes must be kept in hand luggage and not the checked bags as it can lead to fire risks due to the presence of lithium battery in it. As a result, Yuzvendra Chahal might have violated the flight rules and strict action could be taken on him now.

Will Yuzvendra Chahal Be Banned For Vaping?

The Yuzvendra Chahal smoking incident has led to a fresh controversy in IPL 2026. It is likely that the BCCI will take some action on him, given it tarnishes the reputation of the IPL.

Before Chahal, Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag was caught vaping inside the dressing room during a match of the ongoing season. Later, the BCCI fined him 25% of his match fees. Chahal might face similar consequences as well.

While action might be taken on Chahal, the IPL vaping controversy is turning out to be a serious issue for the BCCI officials. The board needs to put some strict rules and regulations in place to ensure this doesn't happen in future anymore.

This incident is even more shocking considering that Yuzvendra Chahal is a legend of the tournament and the player with the most wickets in IPL. He is not having the best tournament this season but has been effective for his team.
