MI Star Prioritizes Vacation With Wife Despite Team's Dismal Run in IPL

Mumbai Indians have had a slow start to their campaign in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season. After winning their tournament opener against the Kolkata Knight Riders, they ended up losing the next two matches.

The team is currently lacking a proper spin bowling all-rounder who can play a quick cameo with the bat and throw in some good economical overs in the middle of the innings. One such player who can fulfill this role is England's star all-rounder Will Jacks; however, the player is yet to join the squad.

When Will Jacks Will Join MI?

The five-time champions, Mumbai Indians are counted among the best teams in IPL. retained Will Jacks for INR 5.25 crore ahead of the IPL 2026 mini auction. The star all-rounder, however, has been granted an extra extension to spend more time with his family and is currently enjoying a vacation in Paris.

His fiancee, Ana Brumwell, shared some pictures from a music concert in Paris on her Instagram account. However, Will Jacks vacation didn't go well with the MI fans who are disappointed with the fact that Jacks is yet to join the team. Mumbai Indians are at the eighth position in the points table currently after losing their last two matches against Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals respectively.

MI head coach Mahela Jayawardene gave an update on Will Jacks Mumbai Indians availability for IPL 2026 after the team's loss against RR.

The right-handed batter got engaged to her long-time girlfriend last year during the Ashes. However, it would be interesting to see when he will join the squad after the vacation.

Will Jacks in Excellent Form

The presence of Jacks for MI is very crucial, given the kind of form he is in. The English all-rounder was the best performer for his team in the recently concluded ICC T20 World Cup 2026, held in India and Sri Lanka. He is easily one of the best all-rounders in the world at the moment.

Jacks scored 226 runs while taking nine wickets in eight matches. Not just that, he also won four Player of the Match awards during the tournament, helping his team reach the semi-finals only to see them lose to hosts India in a high-scoring contest.

Once Jacks returns, it also remains to be seen who he will replace in the squad. Ryan Rickelton and Trent Boult are unlikely to be replaced given their experience in this format. Meanwhile, players like Sherfane Rutherford and Allah Ghazanfar are the players who might make space for the Jacks.
