Al Nassr vs Al Khaleej will be the second semi-final of the King’s Cup and will be played at the Al-Awwal Stadium on May 1.

The hosts will enter this contest on the back of a strong run of form. They have lost just twice in their last eight games across competitions, registering wins in all the other six games. In that span, they have scored an impressive 23 goals and conceded just seven goals. However, the two defeats are bound to have stung as they came against Al-Ain in the AFC Champions League, which led to elimination, followed by defeat in the Saudi Super Cup Final against Al Hilal. Having defeated Al Khaleej 1-0 in the league in their last game, they will be confident of repeating the feat.

The visitors, on the other hand, will enter this contest on the back of a mixed run of form. They too have lost just twice in their last eight games across competitions. However, Al Khaleej has won three and drawn three of the remaining six games as they sit 11th in the Saudi Pro League. Currently, they find themselves in somewhat of a slump as they are winless in their last three. They lost 4-1 to Al Hilal and 1-0 to Al Nassr, with a 1-1 draw against Al Taawoun sandwiched between the losses. Now, they were looking to change their fortunes.

Stand-in manager Vitor Severino will continue to oversee the first team in Jorge Jesus’ absence due to medical reasons. He will have most of the squad fit and ready, barring two long-term absentees. Custodian Waleed Abdullah (leg) and Anderson Talisca (muscle) have missed several games and will be out for the next one too.
