Alphonso Davies

“It’s unfair” – Nedal Huoseh, agent of Alphonso Davies, hits out at Bayern Munich after contract standoff

With less than eight months left on his current contract, reports have linked Alphonso Davies with a move away from Bayern Munich. The likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United and several other European bigwigs have been credited with an interest in the 23-year-old full-back. However, reports have indicated that Bayern do want to keep the Canadian and have already tabled a contract offer.

But that falls short of a previous agreement between Davies, his agent and the club but Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has now handed the full-back an ultimatum. The club have offered another contract and while it falls short of the valuation Davies has asked for, the 23-year-old has been given until April to either sign it. Either that or present a proposal from any team that wishes to sign him.

Nedal Huoseh claims Bayern Munich are “attacking” Alphonso Davies

That hasn’t gone down well with either Davies or his agent Nedal Huoseh, as the latter has hit out at the club in a scalding interview. The agent claimed that the Canadian international was being “attacked” by the club and even pointed out at the fact that there was an agreement in place.  However, after Bayern changed their backroom staff, the deal was taken away and have since tried to re-negotiate a new contract.

Huoseh went on to add that this is a big contract for Davies and it’s only been made worse by the fact that he doesn’t know what kind of future lies for him at Bayern. Reports have indicated that the club are looking for a new manager as they are unhappy with Thomas Tuchel. This combined with other issues within the club have reportedly caused Davies to question his future in Munich.

”It’s unfair that Alphonso is now being attacked. We were close to an agreement a year ago. Then the entire club management was replaced. We didn’t hear anything for seven months. Although I tried during this time to contact the club myself. Now we are being given an ultimatum and are supposed to react within two weeks because the club is under pressure and took a long time to reposition itself in the management? That’s not fair,” Huoseh told Bild’s Tobi Altschäffl, reported @iMiaSanMia.

“It’s a very important contract in Alphonso’s career and we’re supposed to make the decision without knowing who the coach will be next season or what the team looks like. That’s why we think it’s unfair to react to the ultimatum. We will decide how to proceed at the end of the season when there is more clarity.”
