AS Roma provides update following Evan Ndicka’s collapse during the Udinese match

The score was 1-1 in the 72nd minute when AS Roma’s defender Evan Ndicka fell to the ground. He looked in pain while his hand was on his chest. The game later was suspended after the referee and coaches from both teams, Daniele De Rossi and Gabrielle Cioffi, agreed to do so. The defender then was rushed to the hospital.

AS Roma wished for a speedy recovery for Evan Ndicka

AS Roma released a statement that Ndicka has been taken care of. The club is expecting a speedy recovery for the Ivory Coast international and is waiting for further medical observation from the doctors.

“The squad went to visit Ndicka at the hospital,” the club stated on their official website. “Evan is feeling better and is in good spirits. He will remain in the hospital for further observations. Forza Evan!.”

According to the rules, the match is possible to continue with both teams using the same player’s composition from the exact minute where it was stopped. Ndicka has appeared in 27 games for Roma across the competition.

With the Ivory Coast national team, Ndicka won the Africa Cup of Nations this year. He played from the group stage all the way to the final without missing a single minute, including two 120-minute games against Senegal and Mali in the Round of 16 and quarter-final respectively.
