Bayer Leverkusen will host AS Roma in the second leg of their UEFA Europa League semi-final second-leg clash as they look to confirm their place in the final.

Leverkusen has been exceptional this season under Xabi Alonso and have gone beyond the wildest expectations. They are unbeaten across competitions this campaign, with the run stretching to 48 games now. They have already won the Bundesliga title and have reached the DFB-Pokal final.

Leverkusen will now look to make it into the Europa League final but will face resistance from Roma, who lost 2-0 at home in the first leg. The Italian side sacked Jose Mourinho earlier this season and have seen an excellent turn of form under Danielle de Rossi.

Roma have been brilliant under Danielle De Rossi, having won 13, drawn five, and lost four of their games under the Italian so far. They played out a 1-1 draw against Juventus at home in Serie A in their last game and have just one win in their last five games.

Leverkusen, meanwhile, have been sensational form this season and recently as well. After beating Roma 2-0 in the first leg, they hammered Eintracht Frankfurt 5-1 away in the Bundesliga.

Roma are expected to put up a good fight but they also might leave spaces for Leverkusen to exploit in the process.
