Brazil 1-0 Ecuador player ratings as Rodrygo’s lone strike help Selecao pick up their third victory in World Cup Qualifiers

Brazil strengthened its contention for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers after defeating Ecuador in Estadio Major Antonio Couto Pereira stadium in Brazil. Rodrygo’s shot from distance after half-hour is all that separates both the teams after 90 minutes. The Selecao’s picked up their third win in the qualifying stage to end a run of three straight defeats.

Brazil was very much dominant in most of the match but was unable to utilise Rodrygo and Vinicius Jr.’s quality inside the penalty area. Vinicius had a chance to double the score line around the 75th minute but was unable to find his aim as he hit the side netting. Ecuador did well in their defensive organisation and positioning but was not convincing enough in the attacking third. Moises Caicedo got a double opportunity in the stoppage time of the first half but was not able to utilise it.
