Thomas Frank’s Brentford is set to host Man United on Matchday 30 in their first match after the conclusion of the March international break. The Bees are currently in 15th place in the English Premier League table and a victory in the league is of paramount importance. In their last five outings in the premier league, Brentford have managed to earn only one point and are in dire straits. Their 2-1 loss to Burnley prior to the international break highlighted all the flaws of the side. However, after a long break of two weeks, Brentford will look to showcase their quality against an ailing Manchester United.

Traveling to Brentford are Man United. The Red Devils are gunning for top 4 spot as the business end of the season approaches. They are currently in 6th place, nine points behind 4th ranked Aston Villa. While they managed to secure a 2-0 victory against Everton in their last Premier League outing, the club has dropped six points in the league in their last five outings. If they are to finish in a top four position, the club needs to keep winning. However, the spirits of the Red Devils will be buoyed a little by the return of some players from injury and their nail biting last minute 4-3 over Liverpool in the FA Cup days prior to the international break.

The Bees are nursing a shockingly long injury list as they engage in a fight to secure their safety from the relegation zone as the business end of the season approaches. The club has sustained several long term injuries to key players and have recently suffered from lack of depth in some positions. Defenders Rico Henry, Aaron Hickey and Ben Mee are all sidelined with long term injuries and are unlikely to return before June. Their injuries mean that they will obviously miss the Brentford vs Man United tie. 

Meanwhile, Ethan Pinnock’s injury has left a gaping hole in the heart of defense as well. While the center-back has returned to training, it is unknown if Thomas Frank will risk Pinnock for the Brentford vs Man United fixture. He will certainly return in the first week of April.
