Carlos Augusto Injury: Inter Milan wingback set to miss weekend showdown against Napoli

Inter Milan wingback Carlos Augusto is set to miss the Nerazzurri’s showdown Serie A clash against Napoli this weekend.

The Brazilian last featured for Inter in their 1-0 win at Bologna in their last league game.

Carlos Augusto Injury: Extent & expected return

Augusto last featured for Inter Milan in their 1-0 win over Bologna and even started that game. However, he was subbed off at half-time due to calf problems, and has subsequently missed one game for Simone Inzaghi’s team. The Brazilian did not travel with the squad to Madrid as they crashed out of the Champions League after defeat to Atletico.

Now, as per reports from FCInterNews, a Carlos Augusto injury is set to keep the Brazilian from featuring against reigning Serie A champions Napoli. However, Inzaghi will not have much to worry about as the team have a ready-made replacement in Federico Dimarco to take Augusto’s spot.

Carlos Augusto had been one of Inter Milan’s most consistent performers this season prior to injury. He made a total of 37 appearances for the club this season, scoring one goal and providing three assists. Additionally, Inter are an astounding 16 points clear at the top of Serie A, which gives them some breathing room to rest players and rotate the squad.

Aged 25, Carlos Augusto has missed just three spells for his clubs through injury, with none lasting longer than 12 days. Seeing this positive history, the player will look to stay away from the treatment table as much as possible.
