Connor Gallagher asking price revealed as Aston Villa are set to start negotiations

Chelsea are ready to talk about the possibility of selling Conor Gallagher to Aston Villa. Goal reported that the London-based side set a £50 million price tag on the midfielder. Regarding the asking price, The Villans may offer one of their players for a discount. 

Aston Villa would put Jhon Duran as part of the deal so Chelsea could lower the price of Gallagher. On the other hand, The Blues are said to have monitored Duran for months following his impressive run of six months stint in Birmingham.

Duran, who arrived from Chicago Fire in January, appeared in 23 games for Villa and scored five goals. The Colombian has been an important part of the club’s accomplishment to be in the Champions League next season. 

Aston Villa are racing in time as they need reinforcement to prepare their squad for the Champions League adventure. Gallagher might consider to stay in London as Tottenham Hotspur also put interest in the player. Juventus are also rumoured to be interested in Villa’s midfielder Douglaz Luiz, so every move has to be on the money. 

Furthermore, Chelsea are in a position where they have to sell Gallagher to avoid the financial fair play penalty due to a huge transfer last summer. Regarding this, everything has to be solved before 30 June. 

Gallagher emerged as one of the most worked academy products for Chelsea a few years back. Since having his senior debut in 2022, he has played 95 games and scored 10 goals. He was part of Chelsea glory when winning the 2019 Europa League despite watching the whole game from the bench.
