Curtis Jones Injury Update might see midfielder return against Brighton

Curtis Jones Injury Update: Will Jones return for Brighton tie?

An injury-riddled Liverpool FC could be handed a massive boost ahead of their game against Brighton on Sunday with an important Curtis Jones Injury update.

Curtis Jones Injury Update: Jones in a race against time to face Brighton

Despite not featuring in training on Thursday, there is a high chance for midfielder Curtis Jones to be in contention for Liverpool’s Premier League tie against Brighton on Sunday. Prior to the international break, manager Jurgen Klopp had also offered an important update on Jones saying, “ Curtis, and I think the other two, Diogo [Jota]and Trent [Alexander-Arnold], for the week after. A chance.” While Jota and Trent aren’t expected to return against Brighton, Curtis is nearing a return to play the Seagulls but will race against time to make the cut.

The rather positive Curtis Jones injury update comes at a crucial time as the Reds head into the business end of the season hunting for trophies amidst an injury crisis. The talented young midfielder last featured for Liverpool FC on 17 February in Liverpool’s 1-4 victory against a meek Brentford away from home. The Curtis Jones injury update could help Jurgen Klopp reduce the workload on his available players in the midfield and rest them a little. Even if Jones does make the squad, he is unlikely to start after a long time on the sidelines and will play few minutes.

Liverpool’s injury woes coming to an end?

Liverpool’s first team squad has been plagued with injuries all season, but it seems their woes may soon be coming to an end. While the Curtis Jones injury update offers an idea of Jones’ fitness, players like Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota are expected to return to the side in the coming week as well. Defender Ibrahima Konate has spent a considerable amount of time on the sidelines for Liverpool in the last few weeks nursing an injury. However, the Frenchman was finally back in action after three weeks as he featured for France against Chile in the March international break. His return will definitely help Liverpool’s backline.

While Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo have dealt with some niggles recently, both of them have been spotted in full throttle in training ahead of Liverpool’s tie against Brighton and both forwards are expected to be in action on Sunday. The return of crucial players will certainly boost Jurgen Klopp’s side in the business end of the season as the coach eagerly awaits the return of his first choice goalkeeper Alisson, who is expected to return in the second week of April.
