Model Kim Jin-Kyung to Tie the Knot with Korea Goalkeeper Kim Seung-gyu in June

    The custodian for Korea’s national football team, Kim Seung-gyu, and model Kim Jin-kyung are set to tie the knot, according to a Monday announcement from the model’s agency, Sublime Artist Agency.

    Kim Jin-kyung and Kim Seung-gyu will get married in June, the Sublime Artist Agency said in a statement to regional media on Monday.

    According to reports, their mutual love of football caused the two to get closer.

    As of right now, Kim Jin-kyung is the star of SBS’s entertainment programme “Shooting Stars” (2021–), a weekly programme that highlights famous women who play indoor football. She is a member of the Challenge League team FC Gucheok Jangsin.

    Kim Jin-kyung’s journey to fame began after she clinched the runner-up position on the third season of Onstyle’s model audition program “Korea’s Next Top Model” in 2012.

    Since then, she has made notable strides in both modeling and acting, starring in various dramas such as Naver TV’s “Yellow,” KBS1’s “Andante,” and KBS2’s “Perfume.”

    On the other hand, Kim Seung-gyu has carved out a successful career in professional football, making his debut as a goalkeeper for Ulsan HD in 2006.

    He has since played for prominent clubs including Vissel Kobe and Kashiwa Reysol in Japan. Notably, Kim Seung-gyu has represented Korea on various national teams, including the U-17, U-20, and U-23 squads, before earning his spot in the senior national team.

    Among Kim Seung-gyu’s accolades is his pivotal role in securing a gold medal for the Korean national team at the 2014 Asian Games held in Incheon, a feat that further solidifies his status as a revered figure in Korean football.

    As preparations for their wedding unfold, fans eagerly await the union of these two individuals from different realms of entertainment and sports, united by their love and mutual admiration.
