Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola expects more challenges from Arsenal in the future

Arsenal pushed the Premier League title race down to the final week. If The Gunners beat Everton and Manchester City dropped points against West Ham, the trophy will head to North London for the first time in 20 years.

City manager Pep Guardiola breaks down the reason why Arsenal could be another serious title challengers other than Liverpool in the future. The Reds have been the only side to break The Citizens dominance in recent years, winning the league back in 2020.

Manchester City’s potential new Premier League record is at stake

Arsenal actually had a huge chance to clinch the title last season but bottled up in the last weeks. This time around, City’s potential record of winning four titles in four consecutive seasons could be in jeopardy.

“For the future? Arsenal are giving the message… and we take it,” Pep told Sky Sports. “I have a few certain things in my life. I wake up in the morning and I am going to sleep in the night.

“The other certain[ty], with the age they [Arsenal] have, the manager they have, the way they’ve played the last two seasons – they will stay here for a long, long time. That’s why we get the message.”

Apart from the Premier League, City could still have an opportunity to win the FA Cup. Phil Foden and co will face the same-city rival Manchester United in the final on the last week of the month.
