Goalkeeper

Philipp Köhn – 6.8

Worked hard since the first half to deny chances after chances from Barcelona who had been down to 10 men since the 10th minute.

Defenders

Wilfried Singo – 6.6

Provided options for AS Monaco in the attacking aspect as he was actively operating down the flank distributing passes.

Thilo Kehrer – 6.8

He performed well defending his team from Barcelona’s constant pressure throughout the match. Kehrer showed a solid defending game alongside his teammates like Salisu and Vanderson.

Mohammed Salisu – 6.8

Defended well alongside Kehrer amid relentless attacks and pressures from Barcelona for the whole 90-minute match.

Vanderson – 8.1

He played so well that he produced the assists for both of the Monaco goals in the match. He didn’t run down the flank for nothing as he made a real impact for his team.

Midfielders

Denis Zakaria – 7

Perfectly kept the balance in the midfield alongside Lamine Camara who was replaced by Aleksandr Golovin. Led the team from the midfield to challenge European giants like Barcelona.

Lamine Camara – 6.7

Despite not being able to play the whole match, Camara put up a good show against Barcelona with his interceptions and tackles in the midfield.

Forwards

Takumi Minamino – 7

The Japanese player continued to show his real contribution to the team this season by playing a supportive role for the main centre-forward. During 70 minutes, he produced two key passes from his 21 touches.

Maghnes Akliouche – 7.4

He brought the team to stun Barcelona at the beginning of the match, scoring an early goal for Monaco. Akliouche played so effectively with his goal being his only shot on goal in the whole game.

Eliesse Ben Seghir – 7.4

With Akliouche put on the threats for Barcelona from the right-hand side of the flank, Ben Seghir did it from the left. He produced a 100 percent crossing accuracy from that position.

Breel Embolo – 6.7

Not his best performance today as he produced two shots on goal and won three out of the four ground duels he had.

Substitutions

Aleksandr Golovin – 6.7

Came on to replace Camara in the second half to bring more stability in the midfield with the experience he had.

George Ilenikhena – 7.4

Did his job well replacing Embolo who found deadlocks. Ilenikhena scored the goal which put Monaco back on the lead.

Caio Henrique – 6.6

In the second half, he came on to replace Ben Seghir who played well. However, he got the job done in keeping the momentum for Monaco.

Folarin Balogun – 7.5

After 16 minutes of being on the pitch, he already made one shot on target and delivered two key passes.

Manager: Adi Hütter – 7.3

Despite the way AS Monaco won the game today, Hütter is the first manager in charge to give Hansi Flick his first defeat as Barcelona manager since taking over the job this season.

Goalkeeper

Marc-Andre ter Stegen – 7.9

Being himself with the level he has, denying chance after chance despite conceding two goals on both halves.

Defenders

Alejandro Balde – 6.5

The youngster could still improve his level for the upcoming games after showing a persistent game on the left flank acting as a full-back.

Inigo Martinez – 6.4

It was not a bad performance by Martinez but it was just not good enough for Barcelona who struggled to match the home side’s energy and eagerness to win the game.

Pau Cubarsi – 6.5

Not his best day despite the number of clearances and interceptions he collected during his 79-minute presence on the pitch today.

Jules Kounde – 6.4

He won duels and tackles to take the ball back from the opponents. However, it was just not enough to bring victory for his side as Barcelona had already being outnumbered on the pitch.

Midfielders

Eric Garcia – 3

Only played for 10 minutes before getting sent off due to his challenge on Takumi Minamino.

Marc Casado – 7.3

Put up tremendous hard work in the midfield after Garcia’s red card as he produced the ball and intercepted the opponents’ passes at the same time.

Pedri – 6.6

Backed up Barcelona’s two forwards Lewandowski and Yamal upfront. He was a hub for the midfield and the frontlines as he collected 89 percent passing accuracy.

Forwards

Lamine Yamal – 6.9

Continued to fascinate the fans with his attractive style of play more importantly his goal. However, it was because Barcelona was outplayed that he couldn’t be focused solely on the attacking aspect.

Raphinha – 6.8

Raphinha has one key pass, one successful long pass, as well as one accurate cross. Apart from that, he couldn’t play as he likes due to tactical reasons with Hansi Flick focused on defending since Garcia’s sent-off.

Robert Lewandowski – 6.7

It had all been a disaster for Barcelona since Garia pulled a harsh challenge on Minamino as the playing system was not going according to what had been planned. This also affected the way Lewandowski played up front.

Substitutions

Ferran Torres – 6.6

Hansi Flick put him on to replace Pau Cubarsi with the hope of a goal amid their defending approach towards the end of the game but didn’t work.

Sergi Dominguez – 6.5

Replaced Roberto Lewandowski who found deadlocks in putting his name on the score sheet. Dominguez also failed to find the back of the net for the rest of the match.

Gerard Martin – 6.5

He came on to replace Lamine Yamal who scored Barca’s only goal of the match.

Pablo Torre – 6.4

During his 14-minute presence on the pitch, Torre had four successful passes out of four attempts, from four touches.

Ansu Fati – 6.5

Not much he can do in nine minutes of his appearance on the pitch apart from touching the ball once.

Manager: Hansi Flick – 6.4

His plan was ruined by Garcia’s red card in the 10th minute. Everything he could for the rest of the match was nothing more than just defending the goal net from conceding more goals.
