Pep Guardiola and Erling Haaland

Pep Guardiola confirms the return of several players, including Erling Haaland, for Wolverhampton game

Erling Haaland’s fitness has been a serious concern for Manchester City as The Citizens are in the title race with Arsenal. The Norwegian forward was absent when City beat Chelsea in the FA Cup semifinal and when they crushed Brighton four goals to nil.

Haaland returned when City played Nottingham Forest last week where he scored one of his team’s two goals. City manager Pep Guardiola said he demanded the player to be ready in a crucial moment like this.

Pep Guardiola confirms that Erling Haaland is fit

“Yes,” Guardiola said via Goal. “When everybody is fit they have to be ready. I don’t know tomorrow, of course, I have doubts about one or two players. But the rest of the gameplan, what I want to do, I see the last games for Wolves. But he’s ready.”

City are about to face Wolverhampton at home tomorrow. Prior to the must-win game, Guardiola confirmed that his side will have a boost after some players are returning to the squad.

“Phil Foden and Ruben Dias are okay,” the former Barcelona manager added. “(Ederson’s injury) looked worse than it is. He trained yesterday and feels good. He could be back against Wolves.”

City are one point away from Arsenal who sit at the top of the table. The Etihad Stadium-based side have a huge opportunity to overturn the table with one game in hand. If they manage to beat Wolves, City would knock The Gunners off of the top with two-point advantage.
