Real Madrid 4-1 Espanyol Player Ratings as Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr. help Los Blancos secure three points

The reigning champions, Real Madrid secured yet another victory at the Santiago Bernabeu as their streak of not playing convincingly continued. They defeated Espanyol 4-1 after a second-half turnaround from the Los Blancos. This victory marks their back-to-back wins in La Liga as Carlo Ancelotti’s side dominated the first half but were not clinical enough to change the scoreline.

Espanyol took the lead through an own goal from Thibaut Courtois nine minutes after the restart. Four minutes later Carvajal netted the equaliser after Jude Bellingham’s cross slipped through the hands of Joan Garcia. Vinicius Jr.’s introduction acted as a catalyst for the Los Blancos as he set up Rodrygo in the 75th minute before bagging on for himself only three minutes later. French World Cup winner, Kylian Mbappe sealed the victory from the penalty spot in the 90th minute as the defending champions move one point behind leaders Barcelona, who have a game in hand.
