Viktor Gyokeres Injury: Forward is out injured, the suitor clubs need to wait

The in-form young striker from Scandinavia, Viktor Gyokeres is reportedly injured due to knee issues. The Sporting CP forward will spend less than a month off the pitch and undergo a further assessment for the injury.

Gyokeres has been a hot property for the summer following his impressive season with Sporting in Portugal. The 25-year old scored 43 goals in total, taking his club to win the Liga Portugal at the end of the 2023/24 season. Meanwhile in the Europa League, they reached the Round of 16 and ended up losing to the eventual champions Atalanta.

Viktor Gyokeres has been injured since September

The injury itself is not happening lately but since September. Gyokeres felt it when Sporting faced Sturm Graz in Austria. Since then, he played the rest of the season with tape on his knee.

With Sweden not participating in the Euro 2024, Gyokeres has time to focus on healing his injury. At the same time, all of his suitors will have to wait until the player is in a fit position to play again.

From Arsenal, Chelsea, to Borussia Dortmund are rumoured to join the race of chasing Gyokeres’ signature. In particular for the aforementioned, The Blues have experience of signing a fragile player with Christopher Nkunku having to undergo surgery despite just joining the Stamford Bridge-based club.
