Wales vs Turkey Player Ratings: Ward Shines, Yilmaz Struggles in 0-0 Nations League Draw

Wales took on Turkey at home in the Nations League tonight in an exciting game that finished 0-0. Turkey are the stronger side and were favourites but Wales under new manager Craig Bellamy really showed their best version and it will be exciting to see what they bring going forward. Both sides seemed quite equally matched.

Danny Ward — 7/10. Only had one save to make but did well on the distribution front.

Defenders

  • Conor Roberts — 6/10. Completed the most tackles and lost the most duels.
  • Joe Rodon — 7/10. Saw a lot of the ball and missed a big chance.
  • Ben Davies — 7/10. Completed a century of passes and did not have much defending to do.
  • Neco Williams — 5/10. Very average performance from him in defence and in the attack.

Midfielders

  • Ethan Ampadu — 7/10. Controlled the midfield with his tempo-setting passing.
  • Jordan James — 5/10. Average outing from him at the centre of the park. Looked out of sorts.
  • Harry Wilson — 7/10. The creative midfielder created as many as 4 chances.

Forwards

  • Sorba Thomas – 7/10. Created a couple of big chances.
  • Aaron Ramsey — 6/10. Missed a couple of big chances in an unfamiliar position.
  • Brennan Johnson — 6/10. Looked dangerous in spells.

Substitutions:

  • Kieffer Moore — 6/10.
  • Lewis Koumas — 6/10.
  • Oliver Cooper — 5/10.

  • Kaan Ayhan – 7/10. Generally solid in defence and progressed the ball well too.
  • Caglar Soyuncu – 5/10. Picked up a booking and made no tackles.
  • Abdulkerim Bardakci – 6/10. Had a good chance down the other end which he missed.
  • Mert Muldur – 6/10. Average outing from the Fenerbahce fullback.

Midfielders

  • Arda Guler – 6/10. Didn’t have a massive impact. A silent game by his standards.
  • Orkun Kokcu – 5/10. Failed to control the game or create chances.
  • Ismail Yuksek – 7/10. Put in a good shift and made 6 recoveries.
  • Kenan Yildiz – 6/10. Completed the most dribbles but didn’t threaten much otherwise.

Forward

  • Baris Yilmaz – 3/10. Struggled all game and got sent off.
