WATCH: Nicolas Jackson seals victory for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge over Tottenham Hotspur

Chelsea took the lead through Trevoh Chalobah inside 30 minutes of the first half. But it was The Blues’ second which really sealed the deal for Mauricio Pochettino’s side when hosting their same-city neighbouring club Tottenham Hotspur in their latest Premier League encounter.

Chelsea extended their lead into two goals to nil when Nicolas Jackson’s header found the net with 72 minutes on the clock. It all started with Cole Palmer who launched his free-kick right at the near-post of Vicario which bounced off into Jackson’s path.

The latter then headed it in to bring The Blues lead two goals to nil. It was the fourth time that the Senegalese has scored against Spurs this season and his eleventh overall. In the reversed fixture at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Jackson scored an emphatic hat-trick in a 4-1 victory over The Lilywhites.

The lead stood for Chelsea until the final whistle was blown and the Stamford Bridge-based side moved up one strip on the table to the eighth. The Blues will have another home game against another London side West Ham on 5 May, before heading to the City Ground Stadium to face Nottingham Forest six days later.
