Who has Scored the Fastest 50 in WPL history?

In the tournament's history, the record for the WPL fastest fifty is jointly shared by Sophia Dunkley of the Gujarat Giants and Chinelle Henry of the UP Warriorz, with both batters reaching the milestone in just 18 deliveries. Dunkley was the first to achieve the feat during the inaugural WPL season in 2023 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

The record remained until the 2025 edition, when West Indies all-rounder Chinelle Henry levelled the record of the fastest fifties in WPL with Dunkley through a sensational display against her current franchise, Delhi Capitals, at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. She smashed 8 sixes and two fours in her innings of 62 runs off 23 balls.

10. Grace Harris | UP Warriorz | 25 Balls

Australian stalwart Grace Harris, who is among the best all-rounders in WPL, produced a remarkable individual effort in WPL during UP Warriorz’s clash against Gujarat Giants in 2023, at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

UP Warriorz were in deep trouble at 88/6 when Harris arrived at the crease, with the match slipping away. Harris played an extraordinary innings, remaining unbeaten on 59 off just 26 deliveries with seven boundaries and three sixes, and scored at a phenomenal strike rate of 226.92.

9. Kiran Navgire | UP Warriorz | 24 Balls

Kiran Navgire made an impact at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara in 2025, scoring a rapid knock for UP Warriorz against Delhi Capitals. Reaching one of the fastest fifties in WPL in just 24 deliveries, Navgire lit up the contest with an attacking display, and she is known for her ability to clear the ropes from ball one, evident from her strike rate of 188 in this innings.

8. Richa Ghosh | Royal Challengers Bengaluru | 23 Balls

7. Grace Harris | Royal Challengers Bengaluru | 22 Balls

RCB all-rounder, Grace Harris, put on an incredible show as Royal Challengers Bengaluru had a nine-wicket win over UP Warriorz in match 5 of WPL 2026. Harris looked in complete control as she raced to a half-century off just 22 balls, which is among the fastest fifties in WPL.

One over from Deandra Dottin was all it took for the RCB-W to cruise for an easy win, as Harris smashed 32 runs to virtually end the contest on the spot.

6. Bharti Fulmali | Gujarat Giants | 22 Balls

Bharti Fulmali played a fearless knock during the 2025 Women’s Premier League, equalling Harmanpreet Kaur’s record for one of the fastest 50 in WPL. Representing Gujarat Giants against Mumbai Indians on March 10 at the Brabourne Stadium, Fulmali walked in with her side struggling at 70 for 5 while chasing 180 runs.

She ended up scoring 61 runs from just 25 deliveries, with eight fours and four sixes, scoring at a strike rate of 244. Although the Giants eventually fell short by nine runs, the innings stood out as marking Bharti Fulmali’s maiden WPL fifty.

5. Harmanpreet Kaur | Mumbai Indians | 22 Balls

The MI skipper, Harmanpreet Kaur, set the tone for the Women’s Premier League right from its opening night. Turning out for the Mumbai Indians against the Gujarat Giants at the DY Patil Stadium on March 4, 2023, she produced the first half-century ever recorded in the WPL.

Her splendid knock of 65 came off only 30 deliveries with 14 fours. During her time at the crease, Harmanpreet went on beast mode and struck seven consecutive fours over two overs. She scored at a strike rate of 216.67 and took Mumbai Indians to a total of 207, which resulted in a 143-run victory.

4. Sophie Devine | Royal Challengers Bengaluru | 20 Balls

New Zealand skipper Sophie Devine played one of the most explosive innings in the WPL for Royal Challengers Bengaluru against Gujarat Giants at the Brabourne Stadium on March 18, 2023. Sophie reached her half-century in just 20 balls and showed no signs of going easy as she made her way to an unbeaten 99 from just 36 deliveries. Her innings included nine boundaries and eight sixes, at a strike rate of 275.

She fell short of what would have been the WPL’s first century, but she did set the record for most sixes in an innings with 8 maximums. This innings is ranked fourth in the WPL fastest fifty and remains iconic to this date.

3. Shafali Verma | Delhi Capitals | 19 Balls

Delhi Capitals opener, Shafali Verma, was absolutely outstanding for Delhi Capitals in their clash against Gujarat Giants at the DY Patil Stadium on March 11, 2023, producing one of the fastest fifties in WPL.

Her explosive knock of 76 came from just 28 deliveries. She struck 10 fours and five sixes at an extraordinary strike rate of 271.43. She remains the fastest Indian batter to reach a WPL fifty, and her overall strike rate of 185.29 during that season was the highest recorded in the tournament.

2. Chinelle Henry | UP Warriorz | 18 Balls

The West Indies all-rounder, Chinelle Henry, played a stunning late-order assault in the WPL 2025, drawing level with Sophia Dunkley’s record with one of the fastest 50 in WPL. Representing UP Warriorz against Delhi Capitals on February 22 at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Henry walked to the crease with her side in serious trouble at 89 for 6.

Batting at number eight, Henry smashed 62 runs from just 23 deliveries. She struck only two fours but cleared the ropes eight times, registering the highest-ever score by a batter at number eight or lower in women’s T20 cricket.
