Who Won the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26?

The Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 was won by Vidarbha, who clinched the title for the first time in their history. This was a thrilling final played in Bengaluru between two competitive teams, Vidarbha and Saurashtra. Vidarbha defeated Saurashtra by 38 runs, posting a strong total of 317/8, powered by a brilliant 128 from Atharva Taide. Saurashtra fought back with notable contributions but could only manage 279, falling short of the target. This historic victory marks Vidarbha’s maiden triumph in India’s domestic one-day competition, which is a major achievement for the team.

Vidarbha’s triumph in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 was historic as they lifted the title for the very first time on January 18, 2026, by defeating Saurashtra by 38 runs in the final at Bengaluru. Under the leadership of Captain Harsh Dubey, Vidarbha delivered consistent performances throughout the season.

Atharva Taide starred in the final with a superb 128-run knock, earning the Player of the Match award. Apart from him, Aman Mokhade was named Player of the Tournament for scoring the most runs in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

10. Karnataka | 5 Titles

The most successful team in the history of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Karnataka, has won 5 titles to their name. During their latest championship in the 2024-25 season, they finished at the top of their group with 6 wins out of 7 matches.

Enroute to the finals, they defeated teams like Baroda (quarter-finals) and Haryana (semi-finals), eventually defeating Vidarbha in the finals by 36 runs. Young talented sensation Ravichandran Smaran played a fabulous knock of 101 runs from 92 balls, helping the Karnataka side to win their fifth title.

9. Haryana | 1 Title

During the 2023-24 Vijay Hazare Season, the Haryana Cricket Team won their maiden Vijay Hazare Trophy after defeating Rajasthan in the finals by 30 runs. In the group stage, the team showcased immense talent and potential, winning all 7 matches.

Before facing Rajasthan in the finals, Haryana defeated Bengal (quarter-finals) and Tamil Nadu (semi-finals). All-rounder Sumit Kumar played a quickfire knock of 28 runs off 16 balls and took 3 wickets for 34 runs in 6 overs.

8. Saurashtra | 2 Titles

In the 2022-23 Vijay Hazare Trophy tournament, Saurashtra won their second title after defeating Maharashtra in the finals by 5 wickets. During the group stage, the team was levelled on points with Uttar Pradesh, Hyderabad, and Chandigarh, but came on top due to their high net run rate.

On the way to the finals, Saurashtra defeated Tamil Nadu in the quarter-finals, followed by Karnataka in the semi-finals. Sheldon Jackson played an iconic knock of 133* from 136 balls, carrying the side over the target of 249.

7. Himachal Pradesh | 1 Title

During the 2021-22 Vijay Hazare Trophy season, Himachal Pradesh won their maiden title in the 50-over tournament after defeating Tamil Nadu by 11 runs. In the group stage, the team finished on equal points with Vidarbha, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh, coming on top by net run rate.

Himachal Pradesh defeated Uttar Pradesh (quarter-finals) and Services (semi-finals) on their way to the finals. HP opener Shubham Arora demolished the Tamil Nadu bowling lineup by scoring 136 runs from 131 balls.

6. Mumbai | 2 times

In the 2020-21 Vijay Hazare Trophy tournament, Mumbai won their second title of the domestic competition after defeating Uttar Pradesh in the finals by 6 wickets.

During the group stage, they finished on top of their group, winning 5 out of 5 games. On their way to the finals, Mumbai faced Saurashtra (quarter-finals) and Karnataka (semi-finals). Wicketkeeper batter Aditya Tare carried the Mumbai team in the finals, scoring 118 runs from 107 balls.

5. Tamil Nadu | 3 Titles

During the 2016-17 Vijay Hazare Trophy tournament, Tamil Nadu clinched their third title in the history of the List A competition, after defeating Bengal in the finals by 37 runs. Tamil Nadu topped their group with 5 wins out of 6, reaching directly to the quarter-finals of the tournament.

The team defeated Gujarat and Baroda before reaching the finals. One of the best wicketkeeper in India, Dinesh Karthik, played a crucial knock of 112 runs off 120 balls, helping the team register their name on the Vijay Hazare Trophy winner list.

4. Gujarat | 1 Title

During the 2015-16 Vijay Hazare Trophy, Gujarat won their maiden List A 50-over title, after defeating Delhi in the finals by 139 runs. The team finished second in the group stage, tying for 20 points with Jharkhand.

In the knockout stages, Gujarat defeated Vidarbha (quarter-finals) and Tamil Nadu (semi-finals). During the finals, captain Parthiv Patel played an amazing knock of 105 runs from 119 balls, followed by RP Singh's 4-wicket haul for 42 runs, this helped Gujarat to get featured on the Vijay Hazare Trophy winner list.

3. Delhi | 1 Title

In the 2012-13 Vijay Hazare Trophy season, Unmukt Chand, the explosive opener, carried the Delhi side to their maiden title after defeating Assam in the finals by 75 runs. The Delhi team finished second in the table but qualified directly for the quarter finals.

On their way to the final, the team defeated Gujarat in the quarter finals and Bengal in the semi finals. Unmukt Chand scored 116 runs from 133 balls, showcasing his talent and skills in the final.

During the 2011-12 season of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, star-studded Bengal defeated the mighty giants of domestic cricket, Mumbai, to win the title and placed themselves on the Vijay Hazare Trophy winners list. Bengal started the season strong by winning 4 out of 4 group games, finishing top of the table.

The team got the better of Madhya Pradesh in the quarter finals and Punjab in the semi finals, before reaching the finals. Laxmi Ratan Shukla, one of the best all-rounders in India, scored 106 runs off 90 balls and took 4 wickets for 38 runs.

In the 2010-11 edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Jharkhand won their maiden 50-over List A competition title after defeating Gujarat in the finals by 159 runs.
