One of the names that will be on the radar of the Delhi Capitals will be Australia captain Alyssa Healy, who brings in her four dimensions in batting, wicket-keeping, opening, and captaincy. She was also released by her old franchise UP Warriorz ahead of the auction.

If the Delhi Capitals pick her, then she will act as a perfect replacement for Meg Lanning. Healy is one of the best captains and batters going in women’s cricket, which was evident during the recent ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. If Healy joins DC, she can join the left-arm quick Mitchell Starc, who plays for the same franchise in IPL. The Alyssa Healy Mitchell Starc combination provide a dynamic combo to this league.

Alyssa Healy is the 9th-highest T20 run-getter of all time, having scored 7054 after 301 innings. She is also one of the best women's wicket keepers of all time. Although, she hasn’t had much success in the WPL, one cannot write off the player of her calibre, especially with what she has done over the years.

If Alyssa Healy plays for Delhi in the WPL then it will mean that the franchise will unite a husband-wife player duo. Australian seamer, Mitchell Starc, who is Healy’s husband, plays for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and it will be for the first time that husband and wife will play for the same franchise.

Meanwhile, DC retained Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, Annabel Sutherland, Marizanne Kapp, and Niki Prasad in their squad. They will have a purse of 5.70 crore and 13 available slots heading into the WPL 2026 mega auction.
