Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have been in the news ever since the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 concluded. They had to release Mustafizur Rahman on the BCCI’s instructions and then signed Blessing Muzarabani.

Muzarabani, one of the best bowlers in the world currently, was all set to play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 earlier. However, a last-minute call from Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) made him leave the Pakistan-based league and join the three-time champions in IPL 2026.

This saw the Zimbabwe pacer face a lot of criticism from the Pakistan fans as well as the PSL management. Blessing Muzarabani PSL controversy didn;t stop here as the PCB banned Zimbabwe star from the league for two years.

Blessing Muzarabani Reply to PSL

With Blessing Muzarabani facing a lot of criticism, his manager hit back at the Pakistan Super League and the PCB. He pointed out how they deliberately didn’t react as they didn’t want to show the real truth of PSL and PCB.

He pointed out that despite not giving him the contract, the PSL announced his signing via social media. He also revealed how Muzarabani signed the deal with one of the best teams in IPL, KKR, when he didn’t get the contract from Islamabad United.

Releasing the official statement, he stated:

Opening Quote

“We've remained quiet publicly over the last 6 weeks because we did not wish to create or cause anymore animosity for the Pakistan Super League/Pakistan Cricket Board than they had already created for themselves. However, due to the voluminous and disgusting nature of criticism directed at Blessing via social media, I will no longer stay silent. However, to the so called "fans" that fill his social media DM's with vile hatred, you are an utter disgrace to humanity and you are cowards.

Blessing Muzarabani’s Manager Requests Pakistan to Lift PSL Ban

Further lashing out at the PSL, Blessing Muzarabani’s manager stated that the ban imposed by the PSL is null and void as he didn’t receive any contract. He also urged PSL to withdraw the ban. The statement added:

Opening Quote

“We feel ANY ban on participation in the PSL is incredibly excessive and is not consistent with the punishment given to players who have actually breached a contract in the past. I have never seen a player so publicly admonished and criticised for doing nothing wrong.

Opening Quote

“We urge the PSL to gracefully withdraw the ban and accept this situation for what it is, an administrative error at their end, nothing more. We bare no grudges toward the PSL/Islamabad United.”

Closing Quote

Despite Blessing Muzarabani PSL ban, it has not affected his performance. Muzarabani has played two games for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2026 and picked up four wickets so far. The tall right-arm pacer is a genuine wicket-taker and the leader of Zimbabwe's bowling attack.
