The domestic tournament in Indian Cricket kick-started and will be played till January-February next month. The season started with the Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament, which began on 18th August in Chennai, which is always played in the lead-up to the Indian domestic season.
The Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament is hosted by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association every year. In 2023, the tournament returned after a gap of six years. It is named after Mothavarapu Venkata Mahipathi Naidu, popularly known as Buchi Babu Naidu, a pioneer of cricket in Tamil Nadu.
Buchi Babu Tournament this time around will see a lot of Indian players taking part in it. The event will serve as a great preparation for all the players to get into the groove ahead of the domestic season and maybe make a strong case for the national side, which is one of the best cricket teams in the world.

Buchi Babu Tournament 2025: Format

The format of the tournament is such that, in the league stage, each game will be played for three days. The first innings will comprise 90 overs, while the second innings will see 45 overs. In the knockout stage, each game will be four days. Both innings here will see 90 overs. This could pave the way for several upcoming stars to find their way into the biggest leagues in the world.

Buchi Babu Tournament Full Schedule for 2025 Season

The Buchi Babu Tournament full schedule will see games being played in three rounds. The first round will be played from August 18 to 20, followed by the second round scheduled to take place from August 22 to 24. The last round will be played from August 26 to 28. The semi-finals will be played from August 31 to September 3, while the final is scheduled to be played from September 6 to 9.
