The Women in Blue defeated Sri Lanka in the final to win the title, but the team again did not receive the trophy from Naqvi during the presentation. According to current reports, Naqvi’s term as ACC president is expected to conclude in March 2027. That could provide a fresh opportunity for the BCCI and the ACC to resolve the matter once new leadership takes charge.

Naqvi’s departure would remove one major obstacle surrounding the presentation, but the trophies remain an ACC matter. A new president and the council’s officials would still have to decide how and when the silverware is formally handed over.

The men’s Asia Cup trophy has reportedly remained at the ACC headquarters in Dubai since the 2025 final, despite discussions between the BCCI and ACC over its return.

The 2026 women’s title has now added another trophy to the equation. If the ACC chooses to resolve both cases together after the leadership transition, India could potentially receive the two pieces of silverware in one formal handover.
