The second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) has begun on November 17. The high voltage T20 league will continue for almost a month, ending on December 13. The first season was a total hit with many thrilling and exciting matches. There were stellar knocks and fiery spells throughout the tournament which not only increased the hype but also the participation of international stars. The second edition is returning in a grand, more exciting manner and Nepal Cricket fans have already started the buzz.

There are many players who are set to make their debut in the NPL including Faf du Plessis, Wayne Parnell, Dawid Malan, Milind Kumar, and many more. The hype around Faf du Plessis started a few months back but the real confirmation came in October 2025. Du Plessis has played cricket all around the world and remained South Africa's captain for a long time.

Faf du Plessis in Nepal Premier League 2025

South Africa's former captain, and one of the best T20 batsmen in the world, Faf du Plessis is all set to make his debut in the NPL 2025. Faf du Plessis new team is Biratnagar Kings and they will have high hopes from their senior player. Du Plessis has a vast amount of experience when it comes to T20 leagues as he has played in some of the biggest cricket leagues in the world.

For him, playing in NPL might be a different feeling where he will look to share his experience. However, Faf du Plessis IPL team is not confirmed since he was released by Delhi Capitals ahead of the auction. So he will get a chance to perform and stake his claim to be a part of IPL next season.

The 41-year-old South African player has played 424 T20 matches so far, amassing 11906 runs at an average of 32.88. With the ball, he has taken 50 wickets. This speaks volumes about his vast experience and how much effort he has put throughout his career. Despite being away from South Africa's national side, the right-handed batter has not stopped playing cricket.

Faf Du Plessis played his last ODI match on July 6, 2019 while his last Test match came in February 2021. Moreover, his final T20I match came in 2020 against Pakistan. Since then, he has been struggling hard to find a place in the national team despite pulling off some best performances in the T20 leagues worldwide. Since his international career is almost over, he will be looking share all his experience in the upcoming season of NPL.
