In the second semi-final, the Indian women defeated the mighty Australian women in D.Y. Patil stadium in Navi Mumbai. For the first time India has reached the World Cup Final at home. India will now face South Africa Women who won the first semi-final against England. There were many highlights during the game as a no. of cricketers played a key role in India's win.

Jemimah Rodrigues played a key role with a brilliant century but it was someone else who played a big role in India's iconic win over the Aussies. Rodrigues made history by scoring her first-ever century in a World Cup tournament. She scored an unbeaten score of 127 off 134 balls. Jemimah Rodrigues century led India to final as Australia's incredible 16-match World Cup winning streak ended. With this win, India completed the highest successful run chase women's ODI cricket.

Harmanpreet Kaur Lights Up IND W vs AUS W Semifinal

As India women went out for the chase, Kim Garth drew the first blood as she sent Shafali Verma back to the dressing for just 10 runs. India Women suffered another setback as Smriti Mandhana departed after India off to a quick start. However, Jemimah Rodrigues and captain Harmanpreet Kaur steadied the ship for Indian team.

Both shared a partnership of 167 runs for the third wicket. Rodrigues looked calm as she went on to score a century and kept the run chase alive. Kaur, along with Jemimah, built the innings for India by taking singles. Harmanpreet Kaur changed gears when it was time and scored an incredible 89 off 88 balls with 10 fours and two sixes, looking like the player she used to be. She played a captain's knock and took India out of trouble.

While Jemimah was dropped twice, Harmanpreet wasn't lucky enough and was caught brilliantly by Ash Gardner. After Kaur was dismissed, Deepti Sharma joined the Jemimah in the middle. In the end, the cameos from Deepti and Richa Ghosh cameo helped the team to overpower Australia Women in the semi-final match.

With a spectacular century from Phoebe Litchfield and fifties from Ash Gardner and Ellyse Perry, Australia achieved the highest team total in the history of the Women's World Cup. Australia outscored South Africa's 319 for seven in the first semi-final of the current season on October 29 in Guwahati with 338 runs in 49.5 overs.

Earlier in the day, with rain predicted, Australia chose to bat first after winning the toss at Navi Mumbai. After India managed to get rid of the dangerous Alyssa Healy before to a rain delay, Litchfield attacked the Indian bowlers. In the Women's World Cup knockout stages, the southpaw reached her century off just 77 balls and showed why she is one of the best women cricketers going around at such a young age.

Finally, Litchfield was out for 119 runs. Along with Perry, who scored 77 off 88 balls, Litchfield put up a partnership of 155 runs. All-rounder Ash Gardner challenged the bowlers with her power-hitting and scored 63 off 45 balls. Despite losing three wickets in the last over, Australia set a challenging target for India in the end.
