IND vs ENG 1st ODI Scorecard: All Eyes on Virat Kohli-Rohit Sharma

India and England are playing a highly important ODI series which is crucial in context of the next year's World Cup. The first ODI of the series is taking place in Edgbaston, Birmingham.

Hosts England won the toss and elected to bat first on a dry surface and a sunny day. Meanwhile, India announced the return of their veteran cricketers, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, for this particular series.

The return of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, two of the best ODI batsmen, will boost Team India after a disappointing T20I series. The Men in Blue are bowling first and it remains to be seen how these two legends perform during the run-chase.

IND vs ENG 1st ODI Scorecard

England started well as their openers, Ben Duckett and Jacob Bethell, put up 61 runs for the first wicket. However, the Indian bowlers kept creating chances despite being on the other side of the coin.

Fast bowler Gurnoor Brar picked up the first wicket by dismissing Jacob Bethell for 14 runs. Brar didn't stop here and then removed the other set openr Ben Duckett. Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, the best bowler in the world currently, joined the wickets list and picked up the big wicket of England's captain Harry Brook.

Prasidh Krishna picked up the next two wickets to leave England reeling at 80-5 inside 17 overs. However, Joe Root and Liam Dawson put on a brilliant partnership to bail England out of trouble.
