The Australia A Tour of India 2025 is going to set up a great contest between two strong teams featuring some of the best emerging players from both nations. Often considered as the ideal vehicle to bring together the best youngsters from a nation to trial at a higher level and potentially put themselves in the minds of selectors for senior teams, "A" tours have produced the next international stars time and time again.

This should be similar, with India A and Australia A selecting their squads with opportunity and players presenting themselves as competitive young cricketers. The first leg of the tour commences in Lucknow with two four-day unofficial Test Matches commencing September 16th and September 23rd.

The matches should be a good test of players' technique and temperament playing red-ball cricket, and provide selectors with a better understanding of who may be able to move into the main Test squads.

From the four-day structures, the focus then moves to Kanpur and three unofficial ODIs on September 30, October 3, and October 5, respectively. The limited-over matches will provide adaptability, but more importantly provide the youngsters with an opportunity to exhibit their white-ball cricketing skills in front of selectors and fans. The senior teams of India and Australia are among the best cricket teams in the world and this series is expected to be a competitive, skillful, and high-pressure series.

According to the IND A vs AUS A schedule, the 1st unofficial Test will start on September 16 in Lucknow. The unofficial Test and ODI matches will start at 9 AM IST. The venues for the Tests will be in Lucknow, while the ODIs will be in Kanpur. It will be interesting to watch the match since the series will be quite helpful for both teams. Days before the series, Cricket Australia has announced the squad for Australia A. They have released two different squads as per the format. The unofficial Test matches will feature some of the domestic players in Australia. Sam Konstas has got a chance to play again. This is a huge opportunity for the player who made his debut in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

Moreover, all-rounder Cooper Connolly is included in both the Test and the ODI squads. Young and explosive batter Jake Fraser-McGurk, who could be one of the best openers in the world in the upcoming years, is also in the 50-over squad. Indian star batter Shreyas Iyer will be leading the India A team, where some new faces like Gurnoor Brar and Manav Suthar have been added to the squad. KL Rahul and Mohammad Siraj will be added to the squad to play the 2nd unofficial test match, replacing two members of the squad. Shreyas Iyer has been included in the India A squad for the Unofficial ODI series, replacing Rajat Patidar.
