Where to Watch Samoa T20 World Cup Qualifier

Ross Taylor, one of New Zealand's great cricketers, is ready to make a return to the international game. Since retiring from international cricket in 2022, Taylor will be representing Samoa, the land of his maternal heritage, in the ICC T20 World Cup Asia - East Asia - Pacific (EAP) Qualifier in Oman this October. Taylor is only now eligible to play after waiting the three-year eligibility cooling-off period. Now, it means that he is available to play again for Samoa.

For Taylor, the process of returning is not just about cricket but also about culture, identity, and legacy. He has played for one of the best cricket teams in the world, New Zealand but representing Samoa will allow him to connect with his ancestral roots and support the nation on its cricketing journey. Samoa will compete for a spot in the T20 World Cup 2026, and Taylor's experience and presence will be invaluable for the team.

"This is more than just a return to the game I love - it's the huge honour to represent my heritage, culture, villages and family," Ross Taylor said on Instagram. “I'm excited for the opportunity to give back to the game, join the squad, and share my experience on and off the field.”
