Vaibhav Suryavanshi plays a shot

Team India is set to travel to Zimbabwe to play a T20I series in July 2026. All the matches will be played at the Harare Sports Club, starting from July 23 as informed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The last time these two teams met was in July 2024.

The BCCI is likely to send a second-string Indian team for this series. The squad can see some fresh faces who can make their mark after doing well in the IPL. One of the them is the teen prodigy, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who is already rated highly by several cricket experts.

“Team India will head to Zimbabwe for a three-match T20I series in July 2026. The Indian cricket team is scheduled to play three T20Is at the Harare Sports Club, Harare. The first T20I of the series will be played on July 23, 2026,” read the media advisory from BCCI.

Will Vaibhav Suryavanshi Make India Debut in Zimbabwe?

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the 15-year-old cricketer from Bihar, is the talk of the town for his belligerent batting displays. Even though the young prodigy is yet to make his international debut, several cricket experts have urged the board to add him in the squad for the upcoming tours. Suryavanshi is currently playing in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 for the Rajasthan Royals.

There is a high chance of Vaibhav Suryavanshi India debut during the upcoming T20I series against Zimbabwe. His current performance and the fact that he is now eligible to play in international cricket might secure him a place in India squad for Zimbabwe tour.

Suryavanshi might replace the in-form Ishan Kishan, one of the best T20 batsmen, in the squad. While Kishan is in great form, he has been constantly playing cricket for a long time and he might be rested after a hectic IPL season.

Meanwhile, Suryavanshi recently rose to the third spot in the list of fastest 50 in IPL. The youngster also slammed a memorable century against England in the U19 World Cup final that enabled India lift the title. The left-hander scored a 175 runs off just 80 balls in a knock that included 15 fours and 15 sixes.
