When is India Tour of Bangladesh 2026? Know Date, Schedule & Possible Squads

Bangladesh Cricket Board president Tamim Iqbal has expressed confidence that India's highly awaited white-ball tour of Bangladesh will take place as planned. He stated that the country is "extremely safe" and added that talks with the richest cricket board in the world, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), are continuing regarding the series.

The India Tour of Bangladesh 2026 schedule has not been revealed yet, but it is expected to be a six-match white-ball assignment featuring three One-Day Internationals and three T20 Internationals. The series was initially planned for August 2025 but was postponed after both the BCCI and the BCB mutually agreed to reschedule it. The tour is now expected to be held in September 2026.

India Tour of Bangladesh 2026 Date & Schedule

Addressing the media on Wednesday, July 29, Tamim said that no official decision had been reached so far, but emphasised that all possible steps were being taken to make sure the series goes ahead as planned.

The planned September schedule has resulted in a fixture clash for one of the best cricket teams, India, as the Men in Blue were originally expected to host Afghanistan in a three-match T20I series during that period. To make room for the Bangladesh tour, the Afghanistan series is likely to be pushed back, though the move still depends on approval from the concerned governments.

India's previous tour of Bangladesh came in 2022, when the two teams played a three-match ODI series followed by two Tests. Bangladesh secured a 2-1 victory in the ODI leg, but India responded strongly by winning the Test series 2-0. India are now getting ready for their upcoming Test assignment in Sri Lanka, while Bangladesh will next travel to Australia for a two-match Test series.
