Suryakumar Yadav playing Mumbai vs Chhattisgarh

India's T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav is set to be back in action in the upcoming five-match T20I series against South Africa, starting on December 9. He recently guided India to a 2-1 win against Australia in the five-match series.

There is a big concern regarding his own batting form as he has been seen struggling with his strike during his recent T20I innings, which has also impacted his ranking in the ICC T20I batters list. However, the star batter is working hard to get back to his phenomenal form by playing in India's top domestic league, the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. But the question is, will he play the next match?

Is Suryakumar Yadav Playing Today Against Chhattisgarh in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Clash?

Former No. 1 T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav is undoubtedly one of the best T20I batsmen in the world. But his recent outings on the international platform didn't bring justice to his stature. To recover from that dip, Suryakumar decided to feature in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

During Mumbai's last match, which was against Kerala, Suryakumar achieved a rare milestone of becoming the highest run-scorer of Mumbai in T20 cricket, surpassing Aditya Tare. The milestone showcases the magnificent journey of Suryakumar Yadav in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Suryakumar Kumar scored 32 runs in the match, which came off 25 balls at a strike rate of just 128, which is again, the most concerning thing about him. So, there are high chances of him playing in Mumbai's next match as well, which will be against Chhattisgarh at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow, which is one of the biggest cricket stadiums in the world, on December 6.

Although there is no official confirmation about his availability, it's speculated that he will play the last SMAT for Mumbai before travelling to Cuttack to play the first T20I against the Proteas.

Suryakumar Yadav Trying To Bring His Form Back

Suryakumar had a magnificent IPL season earlier this year, where he scored a total of 717 runs at a strike rate of 167.91. But when it comes to international cricket, the numbers reflect that a tailender scored those. He has been featured in 15 T20Is this year so far, managing to score only 184 runs at an embarrassing average of just 15.33.

Suryakumar Yadav needs to get back to his natural form, especially considering the T20 World Cup, which is set to be played next year in February. The management really clearly wants him to score runs, not just lead the side.
